The Rev. Garrett Yates

Rector

Garrett joined us as our Rector in 2019, just a few months before the Pandemic struck, so he quickly adapted worship to online and outdoor formats. Garrett previously served as the Assistant Rector at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Samford University with a degree in classics, and did his training for ministry at Pittsburgh Theological. Garrett cares deeply about spiritual formation, reconciliation, and empowering the people of God to dream big dreams about God’s activity in the world. He tries to make his answer “Yes… and” as much as possible.

Garrett lives in Lincoln with his wife Katie and young daughter Addie. He loves playing the guitar, board games, and golf, a good coffee, the novels of Walker Percy, and spending time with Katie and Addie.

Sarah Jennings

Director of Children’s Formation

Sarah joined St. Anne’s in the summer of 2006. After her then-preschoolers served as Christmas Pageant sheep that winter, she was encouraged to help shepherd the church’s children as a catechist. She completed the final of the three levels of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Formation Training in 2013.

Before joining the staff at St. Anne’s, Sarah taught English and History to 6th, 7th, and 9th grades in Los Angeles and Brookline, MA. She holds a B.A. in History from Connecticut College and an M.Ed. in Secondary Education from The College of William & Mary with a Certificate in Museum Education. Sarah is a campus resident at Concord Academy and is involved in local civic and community outreach projects, and when not brainstorming new formation and fellowship projects for St. Anne’s families, she can be found walking area conservation trails with her favorite political podcasts or cuddling with her shelter kitty, Carlos.

Jennie Cook

Parish Manager

Jennie joined St. Anne’s staff in January of 2015 as the Parish Administrator. Since then, her role has expanded to include management of the whole of St. Anne’s campus and overseeing parish communications. Jennie is the person to call if you would like to rent church space, have a change in your contact information, want to submit an article for the Weekly Email or Good News, would like to add a name for the Prayer List, or if you’ve lost a pair of glasses. When not at the church, Jennie spends most of her time playing hockey — which has taken her around the world — doing The New York Times crossword, running her little academic copyediting business, and starting all kinds of craft projects. She lives in Maynard with her husband Kelly and Shih-Tzu Ozzie Pawsbourne; her two children are both in college, leaving her plenty of time to finish those craft projects…

Beth Thompson

Finance Manager

Beth Greene Thompson has no qualifications for the position she has filled as Finance Manager since 2014. By the grace of God, her degree in English Literature combined with decades of a patchwork of job experiences has sufficed. She operates a side gig as a daily money manager for seniors.
