Formation & Fellowship
Our faith brings us together to worship, but worship isn’t the only time we get together. Fellowship is an important part of life at St. Anne’s, and in addition to our regular coffee hours and church-wide events like potlucks and picnics, we engage in community through our Adult Formation offerings. We offer weekly Bible study meetings for both men and women, and often host evening discussion groups via our Speaker Series and Climate Justice films. Any and all are invited, so please come join us!
Adult Forum
We offer an Adult Forum at 11 am on most Sundays from September to May. Upcoming topics include how to balance hope and lament in today’s world; how the Bible can be used outside of simply reading it; Climate Justice; and, our annual Advent Moth storytelling hour. All are welcome to attend!
Men’s Discussion Group
The Men’s Discussion Group meets weekly on Wednesdays at 8:30 am in the Parish Library to share coffee, study the upcoming week’s lectionary readings, and pray.
Women’s Bible Study
Speaker Series, Book clubs, etc.
The Women’s Bible Study meets on Thursdays from 10 - 11:30 am to check in with one another, study the Lectionary, and pray.
About twice a year St. Anne’s offers an installment of our Speaker Series wherein we invite noted authors, activists, and leaders to discuss intersectional issues in faith and current events. Previous topics have included the concepts of mercy and justice in Christianity, Judaism, and Islam; how different faiths approach the afterlife; a needlework session with activist Shannon Downey; and authors’ book readings on finding God, the resurrection, and the religious dimension of the Ukraine conflict.
We also regularly offer movie nights sponsored by our Climate Justice Ministry. These free evening screenings enlighten us about the threats to our natural world and invite discussion about how we can be activists in private, within the community, and out in the world. See our calendar for dates.
Additional opportunities for learning include the Women’s Book Group which meets every two months, a parish-wide collaboration on an annual Lenten Booklet, retreats, and the Education for Ministry curriculum, with previous offerings of the diocesan-sponsored Sacred Ground program, a discussion group about Bp. Budde’s book “How We Learn to Be Brave,” and Quiet Days.
